'Need for Speed' Finishes Third in Brazilian Debut

Need for Speed struggled in its Brazilian premiere with a third place finish behind a hold-over and a domestic opener. 300: Rise of an Empire kept the top spot in the market, while domestic film Alemão took second place -relegating the video game adaptation to a #3 debut. The $1.3 million opening weekend recorded by Need for Speed is only a small fraction of the $6.3 million bow that set off Fast & Furious 6 on the road to a $24 million cume in Brazil last year.
