The film performed according to expectations based on comparables, ranking slightly opening weekends of films like Silver Linings Playbook, The Descendants, and Up in the Air. The film performed above other comparables such as Flight, The Bucket List, and Gran Torino.
Gone Girl only dropped 35% in its second weekend in Brazil, finishing its first hold-over frame with $591k from 254 screens. The thriller has grossed a total of $1.77 million in the market and currently occupies the #4 position. Gone Girl has earned more than $63 million overseas.
