'How To Train Your Dragon 2' Fends Off the Competition as it continues to Thrive in China on August 31, 2014

The animated sequel took in $6.3 million from 3,246 screens in its third frame in China. The film has now grossed a total of $57.3 million in the market. How to Train Your Dragon 2 has grossed a total of $420.2 million overseas and $593.6 million worldwide.

 

Local Titles Can't Stop 'How To Train Your Dragon 2' on August 26, 2014

How To Train Your Dragon 2 remained #1 at the box office for the second week in row with a healthy $24 million, giving it a total of $51 million in the Middle Kingdom.

Two local newcomers--The Four 3 and Temporary Family--finished in second and third place, respectively. The Four 3 managed $16.3 million in 3 days, while Temporary Family snagged $8.6 million in 4 days.

The film finished its second weekend in China in second place as it continues to shine in markets around the world. How to Train Your Dragon 2 has grossed a total of $402.4 million overseas and $574.4 million worldwide.

'White Haired Witch' Stays #1 on August 12, 2014

Local product stayed on top for another week in China thanks to the continued success of The White Haired Witch of Lunar Kingdom, which snagged another $19.6 million for a domestic total of $56.6 million.

Hollywood's Brick Mansions is holding up quite well. The action flick is up to $22.5 million.
