Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 rang up $1.079 million on Wednesday, marking a 30 percent decline from Tuesday. The animated sequel has bagged $37.98 million domestically thus far, putting it 21 percent behind the pace of last year's Hotel Transylvania and 11 percent ahead of 2009's original Cloudy flick. Look for a strong sophomore weekend as the film won't face any new competition for family audiences until November.

Warner Bros.' Prisoners claimed the runner-up spot yesterday with another $0.862 million in the bank. That's a 23 percent drop from Tuesday and 46 percent slide from the same day last week. In total, the drama has accumulated $41.39 million domestically. The debut of this coming weekend's Gravity is expected to put a small dent in Prisoners' third weekend holding power due to the overlapping adult audience.

Universal reports that Rush eased 21 percent from Tuesday to take in $0.826 million on Wednesday and remain in third place. Ron Howard's dramatic racing pic has tallied $12.95 million domestically and is also expected to take a minor hit from the upcoming weekend's new competition.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt's Don Jon slipped 21 percent from Tuesday with a $0.77 million Wednesday gross. The rom-com's six-day total stands at $11.21 million, or about 1.1 percent ahead of where 50/50 stood at the same point.

Meanwhile, Baggage Claim added $0.464 million to its haul on Wednesday, increasing its domestic total to $10.657 million through six days.
