Lionsgate's Ender's Game took in $1.87 million on Monday to lead the daily box office for a fourth straight day. The sci-fi film starring Asa Butterfield and Harrison Ford decreased 71 percent from Sunday's performance. Ender's Game has grossed $28.89 million in four days, which is in line with pre-release expectations. Compared to other 2013 sci-fi releases, Ender's Game is running 2 percent behind the $29.58 million four-day start of After Earth and 13 percent behind the $33.22 million four-day take of Elysium. While Ender's Game is off to a solid start thus far, chances are very strong that the film will take a significant hit this coming weekend from the arrival of Disney's Thor: The Dark World on Friday.

Paramount's Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa placed in second with $1.53 million. The Jackass spin-off starring Johnny Knoxville fell 70 percent from Sunday and 45 percent from last Monday. Thanks in part to a surprisingly strong hold over the weekend, Bad Grandpa is exceeding expectations with an eleven-day take of $63.10 million. That places the film 18 percent ahead of the $53.45 million eleven-day take of 2006's Jackass: Number Two and 29 percent behind the $88.64 million eleven-day gross of 2010's Jackass 3D.

Last Vegas claimed third place with $1.36 million. The modestly budgeted ensemble comedy from CBS Films was down 67 percent from Sunday. Last Vegas has grossed $17.695 million in four days, which is on the high end of expectations. The film is currently running 24 percent behind the $23.42 million four-day start of 2010's Red. Last Vegas will hope to display strong holding power going forward, in part from good word of mouth and in part from skewing heavily towards older moviegoers.

Warner's Gravity placed in fourth with an estimated $0.89 million. The 3D sci-fi blockbuster was down 71 percent from Sunday and down 41 percent from last Monday. Gravity has grossed $219.78 million through 32 days of release, which currently ranks the film as the eighth highest grossing release of 2013 domestically. Gravity is $8.997 million away from over-taking Star Trek Into Darkness for seventh place on the list.

Free Birds rounded out Monday's top five with $0.70 million. Relativity's 3D computer animated film was down 85 percent from Sunday; a sure sign that the film is skewing heavily towards family audiences. Free Birds has grossed a so-so $16.51 million in four days, which is towards the lower end of expectations. The film is currently running 2.5 percent behind the $16.94 million four-day start of 2010's Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole.
