The Hunger Games: Catching Fire reclaimed the top spot yesterday with $1.855 million, down 38.5 percent from Wednesday of last week. Lionsgate's young adult blockbuster has banked $342.02 million domestically through 20 days of release, putting it 9.4 percent ahead of where The Hunger Games stood at the same point.
Disney reports that Frozen brought in $1.72 million on Wednesday as it continues to exhibit impressive holding power. The animated hit was down just 6.1 percent from the same day last week. To date, Frozen has accumulated $140.49 million domestically--40.5 percent ahead of the pace of 2010's Tangled.
Thor: The Dark World eased 19.6 percent from last Wednesday to a $0.401 million take yesterday. Marvel's sequel has amassed $195.02 million stateside as it heads toward the $200 million benchmark, which it will cross sometime next week.
Relativity Media's Out of the Furnace accounted for $0.44 million yesterday. The thriller has been off to a slow start in the early December market as it trails the pace of last year's Killing Them Softly by 21 percent with $6.77 million grossed in total thus far.
