Dolby Atmos Conquers New Audio Heights in Russia and CIS

MOSCOW, 24 March, 2017 – Dolby Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE:DLB) today announced that the Kolizey cinema in Kirov is the 100th screen to be equipped with Dolby Atmos moving sound in Russia and CIS. To date, 10 Russian movies have been released in Dolby Atmos, including Viking (Central Partnership), directed by Andrey Kravchuk; Attraction (WDSSPR), directed by Fedor Bondarchuk; and The Heritage of Love (Karoprokat), directed by Yury Vasilyev. One of Russia’s most anticipated movies, Anna Karenina, directed by Karen Shakhnazarov, will also be mixed and released in Dolby Atmos on 8th June, 2017.

Kronverk Cinema and Formula Kino pioneered Dolby Atmos in Russia with the first installation at the Kronverk Cinema City Mall, St Petersburg, in 2013. Currently, Dolby Atmos cinema screens have been installed in Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Armenia and Azerbaijan. More than 2,700 Dolby Atmos screens have been installed or committed to with more than 650 films announced worldwide.

Dolby Atmos has been embraced by all of the major Hollywood Studios, 17 Academy Award® winning directors and 32 Academy Award winning sound mixers. With Dolby Atmos, sound comes alive in all directions, including overhead, with incredible richness and depth.
