Weekly Anticipation Index: 'Cop Out'
Featured Stories - on December 26, 2009 by Phil Contrino
Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan will join forces in director Kevin Smith's Cop Out this February.
This week, we've added Cop Out to our Anticipation Index. The Warner Bros. release is set to hit theaters on February 26.
Cop Out, formerly known as A Couple of Dicks, is the latest film from Kevin Smith, and it marks the first time that the New Jersey native has not written his own material. Smith has a limited appeal at the box office. Without adjusting for inflation, 2008's Zack and Miri Make a Porno is his biggest hit and it grossed a paltry $31 million domestically.
The combination of Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan should help Smith grab his largest audience yet. Willis has a decent track record when it comes to comedies considering that The Whole Nine Yards and Bandits were mid-level hits. As for Morgan, he's gained a stronger following thanks to his hilarious presence on NBC's 30 Rock.
Check out our prediction for Cop Out as well as other films in the table below.
