Not every Summer hit has to be an action-driven extravaganza. Case in point: Fox's The Fault In Our Stars is shaping up to be a prime bit out of counter-programming. Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elogrt star in this adaptation of the wildly-popular novel about two young cancer survivors who fall in love. BoxOffice takes a look at the drama's commercial prospects this week.

The Fault In Our Stars
(Fox)

PROS:

- The source novel is a best-seller with a very enthusiastic fan base.
- Star Shailene Woodley is on the rise after gaining more mainstream exposure from Divergent.
- A romantic drama will come as a relief to moviegoers who feel bombarded by the non stop barrage of action films.

CONS:

- Crowds that want Summer escapism rather than a tear-jerker will stay away from this one.
- As far as leading men go, Ansel Elgort is far from a reliable draw. If Woodley was paired with another actor this film could reach even greater heights.

Check out our prediction for The Fault In Our Stars and other films in the table below. Key changes this week include Heaven Is For Real (up), Transcendence (down), Bears (down) and Brick Mansions (up).
