Global Update: ‘The Jungle Book’ Hits $500M Overseas, $800M Worldwide

The Jungle Book surpassed $500M internationally yesterday and today is expected to join Zootopia as the second Disney release of 2016 to cross the $800M mark globally. The Jungle Book will reach the $300M threshold domestically this weekend. 

In addition, with $54.4M in the UK/Ireland, it will surpass Deadpool this weekend to become the highest grossing title of 2016 in the region. It is already the highest grossing Hollywood release ever in India as well as the third highest grossing Disney release ever in China. The film opens in Korea on June 2 and in Japan on August 11.
