Harkness the Screen of Choice for CinemaCon 2016 Show and Exhibitors

PRESS RELEASE

CINEMACON (BOOTH #2203A), LAS VEGAS, APRIL 14TH 2016 — Harkness Screens the world’s leading screen technology company and thought-leaders in on-screen brightness is once again the preferred screen partner for the industry’s biggest event, Cinemacon 2016.

The show’s auditorium in the Colosseum at Caesars Palace featured two 18.2m x 7.85m Harkness screens; one a Clarus XC 170 2D/3D screen, the other a Matt White screen.  The Clarus XC 170 screen used to showcase current generation xenon projection both in 2D and 3D whilst also supporting Barco’s 6P laser projection technology.  The Matt White screen was used to showcase Christie’s 6P laser projection offerings.

Designed to work with all passive 3D systems and widely regarded as the screen of choice for polarised laser 3D presentation due to its speckle reduction properties, Clarus XC screens create visibly deeper 3D content which draws in the audience creating a more captivating viewing experience.  A whiter look under projection mean that colours look visibly richer and more accurate both in 2D and 3D resulting in a more defined, sharper and crisper picture.

At its core, Clarus technology features 4th generation d-smooth coating technology has specific properties more commonly seen in white screens.  This technology enables Clarus XC screens to benefit from significantly improved light distribution compared to traditional 3D silver screens.

Both the Clarus XC and Matt White screens featured Harkness’ 4K Digital Perforation Pattern launched in December 2015.  This exclusive perforation pattern improves sound attenuation in the spoken range, helps reduce moiré effect and increases reflectivity.

In addition to the two screens installed in the Colosseum, Harkness also provided additional screens across the show including two Perlux Digital 180 screens used in the Octavius ballroom and a number of Clarus XC 170 and Matt White screens for leading industry partners including Barco and Sony.
