The popular Bollywood romantic comedy is also a big hit abroad, falling just shy of breaking the top ten in the United Kingdom last weekend with a $272,992 take from 62 locations. The U.K. per-screen average of $4,403 was the fourth best among films in that market. The film was the strongest hold-over in the market when it came to packing theaters; the Bollywood picture only trailed premieres from After Earth, Steven Soderbergh's Behind the Candelabra, and The Stone Roses: Made of Stone in per-screen average. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani has grossed $1.2 million in the United Kingdom. North America has also been bountiful for the film as well, accounting for an additional $3 million take. That brings the global total of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani to fantastic $31.4 million cume.
Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani went head-to-head against the premiere of Tamla Pagla Deewana 2, sharing a similar screen count heading into the weekend. Tamla Pagla Deewana 2 grossed a total of $4.7 million in its domestic debut.
Shootout at Wadala reached a $712k overseas total, with $369k of that figure coming from North America. Its sturdy performance after six weeks in India has brought in $9.4 million for the Bollywood film. The global total for the sequel has now surpassed the $10 million mark.
Go Goa Gone reached a $4.3 million cume in India, seeing its global total reach $4.7 million after its third weekend in North America brought in an additional $3k to its overseas total.
More North American releases are in store for Indian films, as Fukrey will be premiering in 60 screens across the U.S. and Canada this weekend.

The Relucatant Fundamentalist had a strong premiere in limited release, grossing $205,343 from 186 screens.
