Latest Marcus Theatres Investments Bring Popular Amenities and New Concept to Southeastern Wisconsin Theatres

PRESS RELEASE

Milwaukee, July 13, 2017Marcus Theatres®, a division of The Marcus Corporation (NYSE:MCS), continues to invest in its theatres to create a variety of entertainment options for guests across Southeastern Wisconsin. The most recent changes include the addition of DreamLounger℠ recliner seating in every auditorium at North Shore Cinema in Mequon and Ridge Cinema in New Berlin; the opening of BistroPlex, a new dining and entertainment concept in Greendale; and the transitioning of the company’s Franklin theatre to Showtime Value Cinema. Plus, the Majestic Cinema of Brookfield also has started adding DreamLoungers to 13 of its auditoriums.

“We remain dedicated to transforming the moviegoing experience at each of these unique properties — and throughout our 69-theatre circuit,” said Rolando Rodriguez, chairman, president and CEO of Marcus Theatres. “Southeastern Wisconsin residents now have the option to enjoy new DreamLounger recliner seating in every auditorium at Ridge and North Shore Cinemas, or experience dinner and a movie a whole new way at BistroPlex at Southridge Mall, which just opened two weeks ago. In addition, guests can now opt to see the best Hollywood pictures after their original release at the new Showtime Value Cinema. This combination of offerings provides something for everyone!”

As the summer blockbuster season peaks, North Shore and Ridge Cinemas now feature DreamLoungers in all auditoriums. This change was inspired by feedback from guests at South Shore and Menomonee Falls Cinemas, which in late 2015 received DreamLounger seating in all auditoriums, among other updates. Guests appreciate the comfort and the ability to go from seated upright to a full recline with just the touch of a button. Plus, reserved seating provides a convenient, stress-free experience — with free online ticketing for Magical Movie Rewards® members.

Beyond the DreamLounger recliners is a brand new concept that opened June 30 at Southridge Mall in Greendale. With a food-first approach, BistroPlex is “the restaurant that serves movies” due to its combination of unique culinary creations and in-theatre dining experience offered in all eight auditoriums. Two of the eight auditoriums also feature the SuperScreen DLX® experience with new heated DreamLounger recliners. In every auditorium, DreamLoungers are equipped with side tables, special lighting and server call buttons to make in-theatre dining easy and convenient.

“BistroPlex provides the ultimate dinner and a movie experience,” said Rodriguez. “Since its opening, moviegoers have had fun experimenting with a variety of exciting menu options with a local flair, including build-your-own gourmet smash burgers and Zaffiro’s pizzas, plus specialty cocktails. Guests have also opted to dine or enjoy a drink, dessert or appetizer in the separate bar and lounge space that can be frequented without purchasing a movie ticket,” said Rodriguez.

Rounding out the latest Marcus Theatres updates is the transition of Showtime Cinema in Franklin from a first-run theatre to a value cinema. Showtime Value Cinema offers movies as they become available for $2.50, with a special Tuesday admission of $1.50. Traditional concessions including soda, popcorn, candy and other popular movie theatre snacks will continue to be offered at regular/existing prices.

“With a number of properties in the vicinity, Marcus Theatres is uniquely positioned to offer a variety of choices for guests,” added Rodriguez.
