on May 01, 2013

No Iron Man 3 in Russia last weekend meant another big weekend for hockey biopic Legend No. 17. The sports film was the #1 film in the Russian box office for the second consecutive weekend, grossing $5.6 to bring its total to $16.4 million. Pain & Gain opened day-and-date in Russia but was unable to replicate its $20 million top spot in the United States. Michael Bay's Miami-set comedy grossed $3.6 million in its opening weekend. Scary Movie 5 was the weekend's other major release, coming in third place with $1.9 million. Oblivion struggled even without direct competition from Iron Man. The Tom Cruise film dropped 62% to come in at fourth place with a $1.4 million weekend. Oblivion has grossed $17.6 million in Russia.
