CHINA: 'Django Unchained' Posts Underwhelming First Day
on May 13, 2013
After all the controversy surrounding its release, it looks like Django Unchained isn't going to make a huge dent at the Chinese box office. Sources tell BoxOffice that the Quentin Tarantino flick roped in an underwhelming $610K (3.75 million RMB) on its first day of release in China. Django's weak opening could be the result of facinig stiff competition from three Hollywood blockbusters that are also in the market right now: Iron Man 3, Oblivion and The Croods.
