'Transformers: Age of Extinction' Hits $280 Million

Tuesday Update: EntGroup reports that Transformers: Age of Extinction is now up to a staggering $280 million in China after 17 days in release. The typical run for a film in China is 30 days.
Sunday Update: Transformers: Age of Extinction took on another $25 million over its third weekend in China. The film played in 4,400 locations in the market and fell just 52% from its previous frame. The film produced $3.3 million of its weekend haul from 152 IMAX screens in the nation, taking its Chinese IMAX cume up to $29.5 million. It is the highest grossing IMAX title of all time in the market, exceeding the $24 million take from Avatar. Age of Extinction has grossed a total of $262.6 million in China, more than $50 million ahead of its current North American tally.
