LOS ANGELES -- IMAX Corporation (NYSE:IMAX; TSX:IMX) and Paramount Pictures, a division of Viacom (NASDAQ: VIA and VIAB), today announced that Paranormal Activity 4, the fourth installment of Paramount's hit supernatural thriller franchise, will be digitally re-mastered into the immersive IMAX® format and released to approximately 300 IMAX® digital theatres in the U.S. and Canada, starting Oct. 18 at 9 p.m., simultaneous with the film's release.

The IMAX release of Paranormal Activity 4 will be digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience® with proprietary IMAX DMR® (Digital Re-mastering) technology. The crystal-clear images, coupled with IMAX's customized theatre geometry and powerful digital audio, create a unique environment that will make audiences feel as if they are in the movie.

Paranormal Activity 4 is directed by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman.

 

MOVIETICKETS.COM ADDS OVER 400 NEW SCREENS IN TIME FOR 'THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN - PART 2' PRE-SALES on October 09, 2012

'Madagascar 3' Surges Internationally on October 07, 2012

madagascar3review.pngMadagascar 3 added another $23.1 million internationally from 2,453 locations in 29 countries, pushing its cume abroad to $451 million.

The animated flick opened #1 in Germany' with $15.4 million over six days from 740 cinemas. This is 20% above Madagascar 2 and 130% above Kung Fu Panda 2.

Madagascar 3 also opened #1 in Austria with $1.3 million from 81 locations.
