LOS ANGELES - Sienna Miller has been named ShoWest Supporting Actress of the Year, it was announced today by Mitch Neuhauser, co-managing director of the event, which will be held March 30-April 2, 2009, in Las Vegas. Miller will be presented with the ShoWest Supporting Actress of the Year Award at ShoWest's Final Night Banquet and Award Ceremony on Thursday, April 2nd, at Bally's and Paris Las Vegas.

"From Alfie to Factory Girl to Interview, Ms. Miller has shown an incredibly wide range of acting talent and now with G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, I'm sure she is simply going to blow us all away as she takes on an action role in what is sure to be one of this summer's big box-office attractions," said Neuhauser. "ShoWest is honored to be able to single out Sienna Miller as its 2009 Supporting Actress of the Year."

Miller can next be seen when Paramount Pictures and Hasbro, whose previous collaboration was the worldwide blockbuster Transformers, join forces with Spyglass Entertainment for another extraordinary action-adventure G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. From the Egyptian desert to deep below the polar ice caps, the elite G.I. Joe team uses the latest in next-generation spy and military equipment to fight the corrupt arms dealer Destro and the growing threat of the mysterious Cobra organization to prevent them from plunging the world into chaos. She has captivated audiences on the big screen with her film debut in Layer Cake, the Matthew Vaughn hit film, and her roles in such movies as; Alfie, opposite Jude Law; Casanova, opposite Heath Ledger, as the iconic Edie Sedgwick in Factory Girl; and as an American Startlet, opposite Steve Buscemi in Interview. Sienna has recently been seen as Caitlin in John Maybury's new film, The Edge of Love, for which she received a British Independent Film Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. She will make her Broadway debut this fall in Patrick Marber's After Miss Julie. In addition to G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra, she can also be seen later this year in The Mysteries of Pittsburgh, based on the novel by Michael Chabon. Both The Edge of Love and The Mysteries of Pittsburgh will be released in the U.S. in March 2009.
