Eindhoven, The Netherlands and Baldwin Park, California - Royal Philips Electronics (AEX: PHI, NYSE: PHG) today announced that the Philips XDC-3000S and Philips XDC-4200S xenon lamps are approved by Sony Corporation, B2B Solutions Business Group, as they meet all strict requirements for the Digital Cinema market. The lamps are authorized to be used in all Sony's SRX digital cinema projectors worldwide.

Cinema audiences demand pictures with sharp resolution and the highest quality. These advanced lamps meet the new requirements of the rapidly increasing number of 2D and 3D digital cinemas. Philips xenon lamps enable the digital cinema projectors to consistently achieve high brightness and reliable operation while sustaining long life.

For sale from today on, this approval offers digital cinema customers a wider choice of lamp options. They are available today from select distributors of Philips worldwide sales organization.

The complete Philips Cinema Xenon lamp range will be displayed at ShoWest, Philips booth #1216-1218. ShoWest will be held from March 30th until April 2nd at Bally's & Paris in Las Vegas.
