NEW YORK - The Cinema Advertising Council (CAC), today announced their new Executive Committee, with Michael Chico (executive vice president of sales and marketing for Screenvision) elected the new president and chairman, a position held most recently by Dave Kupiec (executive vice president of sales and marketing for National CineMedia). Mr. Kupiec will remain a CAC officer, elected as the association's new executive director, and both will be joined by Treasurer Bob Brouillette (SVP business development, National CineMedia), and Secretary Laura Adler, (president, A & G Marketing Group), who continue in their previous roles.
"I'm very excited to roll up my sleeves in partnership with all of our CAC member companies to continue the task of fully integrating cinema adverting into the mindset of media executives as they plan and execute their clients' brand strategies," said Mr. Chico. "Cinema has proven time and time again to be one of the best mediums for delivering the highest brand recall and is therefore a proven value. I'd also like to investigate new ways to directly involve agencies and clients as we continue to shape our industry and look to proliferate cinema advertising into new advertiser categories."
In his position with CAC member Screenvision, Mr. Chico is responsible for overseeing all of the company's national, regional and local sales across the United States, and is based in the company's New York City headquarters. He identifies and launches new product and service offerings and oversees Screenvision's overall sales and marketing strategy. Prior to joining Screenvision in August 2007, Mr. Chico was executive vice president of Advertising Sales for Madison Square Garden, Inc. A senior member of the company's management team, Mr. Chico was responsible for overseeing the MSG and Fox Sports networks, as well as signage, integrated marketing and naming rights for the theater at Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall and the Beacon Theater. Mr. Chico was recently chosen for the "The 2009 Mediaweek 50" which showcases the top 50 go-to executives who drive innovation and success in the media industry.
Mr. Kupiec, an advertising veteran, heads the sales and marketing department at CAC member NCM, also based in New York City. He also works in tandem with Cliff Marks, President of Sales & Marketing, NCM, to develop and implement in-theater marketing programs in NCM-affiliated movie theaters nationwide. Prior to joining NCM in 2002, Mr. Kupiec served as publisher of Wenner Media's Men's Journal magazine. Previous, he was the ad director at Men's Fitness as well as marketing director of Conde Nast's Gourmet.
