New York -- BBC Worldwide announces an exciting limited engagement theatrical debut of BBC Earth Films' ONE LIFE, narrated by Daniel Craig - the first time the actor has lent his voice to a documentary feature - on February 21, 2012. From the creators of the critically acclaimed Earth: The Movie, upon release was the 3rd highest grossing documentary and stands as the 5th to date. Directed by Michael Gunton (Earth: The Movie, Madagascar and Africa) and Martha Holmes (Blue Planet) from the BBC Natural History Unit, and featuring music from award-winning composer George Fenton, ONE LIFE captures and celebrates the journey that all living things take from the moment they are born, to that most important of achievements - the delivery of the next generation. Screenvision, a national leader in cinema advertising sales, services and content distribution, is partnering with BBC Worldwide as the U.S. distributor of ONE LIFE, which will premiere on over 400 screens. The British-born actor will follow in the footsteps of Sir David Attenborough and John Hurt by bringing his own unique approach to natural history storytelling.
Daniel Craig said: "I am very proud to be part of BBC Earth's film ONE LIFE. The BBC Natural History Unit have proven, year after year, that their documentary skills are second to none. For the filmmakers who spend their entire lives recording beautiful images of planet earth's dwindling wildlife, I have only a sense of awe and a deep rooted respect. I am incredibly fortunate to have been given the chance to play a very small part in that process."
ONE LIFE Director Michael Gunton said, "I am delighted that we have been able to work with Daniel Craig - one of the UK's true stars - on ONE LIFE. His voice is extraordinary, with a wonderful blend of emotion and authority that I am sure will engage and move the audience in equal measure."
ONE LIFE is packed with filming firsts and almost every story featured in the film contains either an animal filmed for the first time, a behavior that has been captured for the first time, or a new filming technique which has been applied to give a familiar scene an unfamiliar look.
