DeLand, Florida (January 6, 2014) - EPIC Theatres is pleased to announce the company has signed an agreement to purchase 9 acres of land for a new theatre location in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. EPIC's new facility will be located in the fast growing Highway 44 corridor between Home Depot and Mullinax Ford.
EPIC Theatres has been entertaining New Smyrna residents and guests since 1995 and will continue this tradition at its new state-of-the-art facility. EPIC will close its current facility on US 1 later this year.
The new Epic Theatres of New Smyrna Beach with EPIC XL will feature 12 stadium auditoria with upscale amenities. In addition, Epic Theatres of New Smyrna Beach will contain one EPIC XL stadium auditorium with a 65' wide curved silver screen with earth shaking DOLBY digital sound.
Construction of the new facility is expected to begin in June 2014 with an opening in early 2015. Kansas City based TK Architects, has been selected to design the new facility. TK Architects has also designed EPIC's Theatres in Deltona, Clermont, St. Augustine, and Palm Coast, Florida.
EPIC Theatres is a privately held motion picture exhibition company based in DeLand, Florida. EPIC currently operates 93 screens at 8 sites. The company has embarked on an expansion program with plans to add more than 60 screens at 5 sites.
