AMC Selected for Independent Film Programming Initiatives
Leawood, Kan. (Feb. 28, 2014) - Fast Company's annual Most Innovative Companies issue honors leading businesses that exhibit positive growth, progressive business models and an ethos for creativity. This year, Fast Company lists AMC Theatres® (NYSE: AMC) in The World's Top 10 Most Innovative Companies in Hollywood for bringing diversity to its screens through its independent film program, AMC IndependentTM (AMCi).
AMCi is a commitment to advancing independent films throughout the year at more than 65 theatre locations across the country. The initiative offers a diverse array of films that excite, encourage and engage guests beyond the traditional box office hits. The program also allows independent filmmakers the resources and expertise to advance in a challenging industry.
"At AMC, we challenge ourselves to be the initiators and not the followers," said Gerry Lopez, president and CEO of AMC Theatres. "The recognition by Fast Company is an honor and lets us know we are on the right track."
The Most Innovative Companies is Fast Company's most significant, high-profile editorial effort of the year. Fast Company spends months of gathering and sifting data to identify the enterprises that exemplify the best in business from across the economy and around the world.
