Wednesday Morning Update: Think Like A Man Too saw a huge boost on Tuesday, rising 174% to 12,691 tweets, up from its Monday number of 4,628 tweets. This is why I didn't want to cry underperformer off the bat yesterday when its numbers were low thanks to clues such as its strong Tuesday start and daily percentage increases which pointed to bigger and better things on the horizon. The first film was still ahead of that number (~14,000) but at least the gap is much narrower than it was yesterday. While it might not surpass the $33 million opening or $90 million tally of the first film it is still going to be a big success for Kevin Hart and his co-stars and will have no problem beating out Jersey Boys for the newcomer crown. Whether it will be able to top holdovers 22 Jump Street and How To Train Your Dragon 2 is more of a stretch, but not out of the realm or possibility.

Jersey Boys had a pretty ordinary day on Twitter yesterday as it fell a couple dozen tweets to 2,022, down from 2,056 tweets on Monday. Like I said, Twitter activity is bound to be sparse for the film given the older target audience, so I'm not overly worried about the low numbers. What they do tell me though is that this is not going to have any appeal-seep into younger demographics or the numbers would indeed be higher. Eastwood and his fanbase are usually good for low teen millions on opening weekend which is where this looks to be headed. Anything more would just be wishful thinking at this point.

Guardians Of The Galaxy debuted its UK trailer yesterday which saw it top 10,000 tweets on the day. A far cry from the 50k and 28k the first two trailers threw down but considering it was a targeted release to UK audiences this drop makes sense. It has positioned itself well as a late Summer tent pole and could have its merry way with August given the competition or lack thereof for the genre. Superhero films outside of the A-listers of Spider-Man, X-Men, Thor, Batman or Superman have often been hit or miss in recent years but this looks like the birth of yet another potential Marvel franchise.

The Expendables 3 debuted its first trailer yesterday as well which rang up 7,600 tweets. Not that impressive at first glance but considering the corresponding trailer for the second film nabbed 8,000 it looks to be well on track for a similar take.

Thor an A-lister ? You must be kidding me ! If you said Iron-Man, that would have been more understandable... Hope HTTYD2 goes on top for his second week-end !

Well anything that opens to close to 3 figures is an a-lister in my books :) Iron Man may have gone over better but Thor 2 made more worldwide than Iron Man 1 or 2.

What do you think?
