Warner Bros. is estimating that Inception raked in $21.5 million from nearly 2.7 million admissions on 6,550 screens in 59 markets, bringing the international cume to $357.7 million.

Key markets for Inception:



Toy Story 3 grabbed $12.0M from 49 territories representing 97% of the international marketplace. The animated flick's international cume is not $580.6 million.

Jim Carrey will star for director Mark Waters (The Spiderwick Chronicles) in an adaptation of Mr. Popper's Penquins, a popular children's novel by Richard and Florence Atwater. The project is being housed at 20th Century Fox.

Carrey is certainly no stranger to starring alongside animals, so family audiences should have no problem lining up for Popper's Penquins. The actor is coming off the success of A Christmas Carol, which was able to rake in a solid $138 million domestically.

The sequel to X-Men Origins: Wolverine will reportedly either be directed by David Slade (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) or Robert Schwentke (The Time Traveler's Wife). Star Hugh Jackman will make the final decision, but word is that Slade is the favorite.

The original Wolverine flick raked in more than $375 million worldwide, so it's no surprise that 20th Century Fox is eager to send out a second installment.

The X-Men property is a very lucrative one for Hollywood. Matthew Vaughn (Kick-Ass) is currently prepping X-Men: First Class with an impressive ensemble cast.

Imogen Poots (Fright Night), Ophelia Lovibond (Nowhere Boy) and Lilly Collins (The Blind Side) have reportedly emerged as the leading candidates to star alongside Andrew Garfield in director Marc Webb's Spider-Man reboot.

Teresa Palmer (The Sorcerer's Apprentice), Emma Roberts (Valentine's Day) and Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World) are also in the running.

Sony will release the new Spider-Man in 3D on May 6, 2011.
