Mark Wahlberg is in negotiations with Paramount to develop a film project that will pair him with pop sensation Justin Bieber. Wahlberg is currently in discussions with the studio that previously produced the Oscar-nominated drama, The Fighter, to produce a sports drama that revolves around street basketball and which may mark the big-screen dramatic acting debut of Bieber. Wahlberg apparently thought of Bieber for the film after seeing the young singer in action at a celebrity game held earlier this year.

The script for the still-untitled project will be written by Ian Edelman, who previously did How To Make It In America, which Wahlberg and his partner Stephen Levinson produced for HBO. Bieber, hot off of the box office success of Never Say Never, another Paramount venture, seems poised to truly break into four-quadrant success if the film gets underway.
