Gore Verbinski (the first three Pirates of the Caribbean films) may end up joining forces once again Johnny Depp. The director is circling Disney's planned film version of The Lone Ranger. Depp is already on board as Tonto.

Verbinski and Depp recently teamed up on Rango, an animated 3D flick that Paramount will release on March 4, 2011.

Toronto, ON -- Cineplex Entertainment today announced the Cineplex Mobile App will be available as a free download for a wide variety of smartphones and select devices effective tomorrow, November 24th, 2010. Cineplex Entertainment also announced guests will have the option of using PayPalTM to purchase tickets with the Cineplex Mobile App. After selecting their tickets, guests using PayPal can log in to their account, confirm payment and then choose the ticketing option they prefer. This quick and easy step takes place directly in the Cineplex Mobile App, making it a secure and easy transaction. Guests can also purchase tickets using a credit card in addition to using PayPal.

When making a purchase, guests are presented with two options to receive their tickets, Pickup Using Mobile or Print Skip Scan. Guests selecting Pickup Using Mobile are sent an eight digit alpha numeric booking identification number (ID) after their payment is processed. This booking ID is entered at a theatre kiosk or used at the box office and once the ID is accepted, the tickets are printed. For Print Skip Scan, once the payment is processed, an email confirmation is sent to the guest, which they print at home and bring to the theatre where it will be scanned for admission. There are no additional service charges when purchasing tickets for Cineplex Entertainment theatres via the Cineplex Mobile App or Cineplex Mobile Web at

The Cineplex Mobile App is your one-stop destination for movie and entertainment information in Canada. Guests can view information for theatres across Canada, (not just Cineplex Entertainment theatres) by radius, with maps, phone number, admission prices, showtimes and ticketing information. Guests can also browse a listing of movies both in-theatre and coming soon, read the latest movie news, watch a trailer or other exclusive content, view box office results, receive promotion information and check their SCENE point balance. Members of our SCENE rewards program can enter their SCENE card number to have it stored on their device. Once stored, the SCENE number will automatically appear in all mobile transactions so they can seamlessly earn SCENE points.

When your SCENE card number is stored in your mobile device, it will create an electronic SCENE bar code that will replace your physical SCENE card. Warner Bros. will try to capitalize on the recent vampire trend by rebooting the Buffy the Vampire Slayer property. Charles Roven (The Dark Knight) and Steve Alexander will produce the feature film with Doug Davison and Roy Lee of Vertigo Entertainment. Whit Anderson will handle screenwriting duties.

While the Buffy character was the subject of a 1992 film, it was Joss Whedon's television show that made the character a phenomenon. Sarah Michelle Gellar played the title role.

Oak Park, MI -- MJR Digital Cinemas announced today that it will build an all-new, state-of-the-art, digital movie theatre complex in Westland, Michigan. The MJR Westland Grand Digital Cinema 16 is set to break ground at the end of March, 2011 and is scheduled to open in late October or early November, 2011. The entertainment venue will bring more than 60 new jobs to the area.

Located at 6800 North Wayne Road, the newly constructed 65,000 square-foot motion picture complex will feature 16 screens and a total of 3,100 seats. MJR expects the Westland Grand to generate in excess of 800,000 admissions per year.

The new theatre will take movie watching to the next level. It will be equipped with state-of-the-art 4Kdigital projection, which offers the ultimate size, resolution and picture quality. The MJR Westland Grand will be the only movie theatre in Wayne County with 4K digital projection.

Additionally, the MJR Westland Grand will have all of the amenities that have made MJR Digital Cinemas a favorite among local moviegoers, including a lobby screen showing continuous previews, five 3-D screens, MJR's famous "free refill" policy, and the MJR Movie Rewards Club.
