MACCS Theatrical Distribution Software manages all aspects of a motion picture theatrical release including planning, booking contracts, inventory, box office data, invoicing, and cash receivables. It interfaces with multiple general ledger systems and, through its MaccsBox API services, provides a single point of contact to third-party systems including those of exhibitors, post-production houses and shipping depots. Its design around automation provides efficiencies and improved business intelligence and is available in multiple languages and currencies.

Dolby Atmos at 200-Title Milestone

The Dolby Atmos Cinema Processor CP850 offers a complete audio solution to today's digital cinema theatres and brings a natural, realistic, and immersive Dolby Atmos sound experience to audiences. The CP850 supports Dolby Atmos playback of up to 64 speaker feeds, configurable between 16 analog outputs and a Dolby Atmos Connect output. The CP850 supports Dolby Surround 7.1 and 5.1 digital playback as well as common Dolby formats used with alternative content in cinemas: Dolby Digital PlusTM, Dolby® E, and Dolby's latest upmixing technology.

To ensure proper setup and playback, each CP850 also includes the Dolby Atmos Commissioning Service. CHICAGO -- NEC Display Solutions of America, a leading provider of commercial LCD display and projector solutions, announced today its selection as exclusive supplier of digital cinema projectors to USA Drive-Ins, a motion picture exhibition company solely dedicated to the revitalization of the classic American drive-in.

The company will exclusively use NEC Display NC3200S and NC3240S digital cinema projectors in this initiative to increase the number of drive-in theaters in the U.S. The locations will present family-friendly films in an all-American experience. USA Drive-ins has executed an agreement to partner with the iconic American restaurant experience Johnny Rockets.

SHOWEAST/HOLLYWOOD, Fla. -- Christie® today announced the launch of its new media initiative, Christie Experiential Networks® (CEN). Based on the theme "From the Street to the ScreensTM," the network features unique digital destinations such as the Christie double-sided digital standee, the experiential video wall and the hero screen; some of which will be introduced during ShowEast, Oct. 27-30, in Hollywood, Florida.

"Christie was at the forefront leading the conversion of film to digital projection, and we are today the first to deploy a refined experiential strategy that will transform the way exhibitors, brands, agencies and studios connect with moviegoers across the country," said Kevin Romano, senior director, Global Media, at Christie. New Role, New Business Model
Christie Experiential Networks (CEN) adds a new layer to how Christie brings value to the cinema industry. With this new initiative, Christie becomes a network operator that supplies technologies and digital content to exhibitors' lobbies. Christie provides standard track installations at no cost to the exhibitor and can also provide personalized concepts for a competitive investment. CEN's team of media specialists will manage advertising sales, in a revenue-share model with the exhibitors.

Experiential, Mass Media Style
From a brand and studio perspective, Christie's new CEN provides access to a large-scale network of refined, multi-platform digital experiences for the consumer. Technologies and content strategy will, for example, enable studios to transform a trailer into a 4K gesture experience; or brands to create an interactive experience from an app, such as a 30-second ad or a static poster. Then the experience can be distributed on a national scale in top designated market areas. A variety of experience options are available for brands and studios.

More Entertainment Value Means More Guest Engagement, and More Revenues
CEN's mission is to create new revenue streams for exhibitors, deliver refined media opportunities for brands and studios, and offer high-impact digital experiences for the consumer. San Luis Obispo, CA - Ultra Stereo Labs Inc., a leader in digital cinema technology, has started to ship the latest version of the LSS-100: the new LSS-100P. The LSS-100P allows exhibitors and industry network operation centers to continuously monitor on-screen technical performance to ensure the highest presentation quality. New and upgraded features include; power over Ethernet, a precision photopic luminance sensor, an IR sensor, DSP processing, contact closure script start, and XML post to HTTP server. The new LSS-100P, along with many other innovative USL products, will be on display at the ShowEast Convention, October 27-30, at the Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa in Hollywood, Florida.

The LSS-100P provides daily testing for digital projection and sound equipment in each auditorium. The test show, Light & Sound Test (LST-100) is available on a USB flash drive or as a free download from the USL website. A single cue at the beginning of the show commences the LSS-100P's capture of screen luminance, screen chromaticity and sound pressure levels for each speaker. These tests can detect issues with speakers, amplifiers, crossovers, projector luminance, and projector color. The test results are logged, limit checked and available directly on the LSS-100P as an HTML table and graph. The results can also be downloaded as a CSV file for further analysis, or they can be posted in XML to an HTTP or HTTPS server for centralized data collection.

After listening to comments and input from industry field technicians, our team of engineers created new features and upgrades that will enhance use and testing with the new LSS-100P," stated Jack Cashin, USL, Inc.'s founder, president and chief technical designer.
