paulrogers.pngBen Marcus Award: Paul J. Rogers

This year, The Geneva Convention honors one of its closest and dearest by honoring Paul J. Rogers with the Ben Marcus Award. Paul is Chairman of the Board of Rogers Cinema Inc., a Marshfield, Wisconsin based company. He continues to serve as President and National Director of the National Association of Theatre Owners of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan and has done so for the last 15 years.

Starting in 1964 as an usher for the Adler Theatre Company, he has always worked and been involved with motion pictures his entire life except for the three years he spent in the service in the American Embassy in Rangoon, Burma, for which he was awarded the Joint Services Commendation Medal.

In 1970 he became general manager for the Adler Theatres. In 1972 he purchased the company's Marshfield operations, a single indoor and drive in theatre. He was 24 years old and always thought it as a "great accomplishment" to borrow a Quarter Million Dollars from the bank with his limited resources! He was elected to the NATO of Wisconsin & Upper Michigan board in 1973 to start the Youth Movement.

Today, Rogers Cinemas are located in eight cities with 53 screens throughout Wisconsin and Upper Michigan.

Widowed in 2003 and no children, Paul resides in Marshfield, Wisconsin but he spends a great deal of time at his Tomahawk, Wisconsin lake home or his Florida homes in the Fort Meyers area. Mr. Rogers spends a great deal of time and effort on civic and philanthropic work.
