The sequel to X-Men Origins: Wolverine will reportedly either be directed by David Slade (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) or Robert Schwentke (The Time Traveler's Wife). Star Hugh Jackman will make the final decision, but word is that Slade is the favorite.

The original Wolverine flick raked in more than $375 million worldwide, so it's no surprise that 20th Century Fox is eager to send out a second installment.

The X-Men property is a very lucrative one for Hollywood. Matthew Vaughn (Kick-Ass) is currently prepping X-Men: First Class with an impressive ensemble cast.

Imogen Poots (Fright Night), Ophelia Lovibond (Nowhere Boy) and Lilly Collins (The Blind Side) have reportedly emerged as the leading candidates to star alongside Andrew Garfield in director Marc Webb's Spider-Man reboot.

Teresa Palmer (The Sorcerer's Apprentice), Emma Roberts (Valentine's Day) and Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World) are also in the running.

Sony will release the new Spider-Man in 3D on May 6, 2011.
