gdclogo.pngHong Kong (December 11, 2014) - GDC Technology Limited ("GDC Technology"), a world leading digital cinema solutions provider, is pleased to announce that it has secured a fresh agreement for the sale of its digital cinema servers, along with its Theatre Management System ("TMS"), from Evergrande Cinema Circuit Management Co., Ltd (恒大院线管理有限公司) ("Evergrande Cinema Circuit"). Under the agreement, GDC's SX-3000 Standalone Integrated Media BlockTM ("SX-3000 IMB") and TMS will be installed in the circuit's 30 new cineplexes in 2015.

GDC's products are used in all of China's top cinema chains, and this is the company's second order from Evergrande within the short timespan of one year. The agreement further consolidates GDC's collaboration with Evergrande, currently one of the largest cinema circuits in China, after some 300 SX-3000 IMBs and 30 TMS units were deployed in 2014.

nov26.pngLionsgate reports that The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 added $1.39 million on Wednesday, off 40 percent from last week and bringing its domestic total up to $262.77 million through 20 days of release. The film currently trails Catching Fire by 23 percent at the same point.

Horrible Bosses 2 posted $0.725 million yesterday, down 33 percent from last Wednesday. The comedy sequel has taken in $38.3 million to-date, 48.5 percent off the pace of its predecessor.

Interstellar took third place on Wednesday with a $0.68 million gross, dropping 20 percent from the same day last week. The domestic tally stands at $160.6 million.

Penguins of Madagascar claimed fourth with a $0.51 million take, down 22 percent from last Wednesday. The animated spin-off has earned $51.03 million to-date.

Rounding out the top five, Big Hero 6 added $0.4 million for a 14 percent week-to-week drop. The Disney flick has summed $178.75 million domestically so far.

Meanwhile, The Theory of Everything grabbed another $246,957 from 826 locations for a $299 per-theater average. The film's total thus far is $14.36 million.

The renovations will add DreamLoungerSM recliner seating to all of the auditoriums at the South Shore and Menomonee Falls Cinemas in the Milwaukee market and the Elgin Cinema in Elgin, Illinois. Marcus Theatres' unique DreamLounger seating concept is one of the amenities that continues to garner rave reviews among consumers. There are currently eight theatres that offer DreamLounger seating in every auditorium and the latest investments will add recliner seating to three more theatres. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 grossed $1.44 million on Monday to lead the daily box office for an 18th consecutive day. The third installment of Lionsgate's blockbuster franchise was down 74 percent from Sunday and down 45 percent from last Monday. In comparison, last year's The Hunger Games: Catching Fire fell 70 percent on its third Monday to gross $1.94 million. Mockingjay - Part 1 has grossed $259.59 million in 18 days, which ranks the film as the third highest grossing release of 2014 thus far domestically. The film will surpass the $259.77 million final gross of Captain America: The Winter Solider today to move into second place for the year. Mockingjay - Part 1 is currently running 23 percent behind the $337.79 million 18-day take of Catching Fire.

Warner's Horrible Bosses 2 placed in second with $0.724 million. The R-rated comedy sequel fell 64 percent from Sunday and 34 percent from last Monday. While it continues to display respectable holding power thus far, in the bigger picture Horrible Bosses 2 is performing significantly below expectations with a 13-day take of $36.62 million. That places the film 46 percent behind the $68.17 million 13-day take of 2011's Horrible Bosses.

Paramount's Interstellar claimed third place with $0.650 million. The Christopher Nolan directed sci-fi film was down 69 percent from Sunday and down a healthy 23 percent from last Monday. Interstellar has grossed $159.09 million after 32 days of wide release and is set to surpass the $160 million domestic mark either today or Wednesday.

Penguins of Madagascar took fourth place with $0.470 million. The 3D computer animated film from Fox and DreamWorks Animation fell 85 percent from Sunday and 42 percent from last Monday. Penguins of Madagascar has grossed $49.87 million in 13 days and is set to surpass the $50 million mark today. The film continues to perform below expectations and is running 12 percent behind the $56.93 million 13-day take of 2011's The Muppets.

Fellow 3D computer animated film Big Hero 6 rounded out the day's top five with $0.380 million. The successful Disney release was down 83 percent form Sunday and down 38 percent from last Monday. Big Hero 6 has grossed $177.84 million in 32 days and should continue to hold up well throughout the rest of the holiday season.
