March 2, 2011 -- After an initial successful run at 15 digital cinema locations, Cinedigm (NASDAQ: CIDM) has re-teamed with Red Bull and its media distribution partner WAX to bring the harrowing documentary "Mount St. Elias" to 4 additional theatres around the U.S. For one night only this Thursday, March 3rd, moviegoers can witness this visually stunning film. Audiences will get a big screen glimpse into one of the greatest feats in mountaineering and skiing history as three Alpine skiers risk their lives in pursuit of the world's longest descent.

Created by the Red Bull Media House, "Mount St. Elias" is a perfect candidate for digital distribution and benefits from the extremely targeted and efficient distribution model brought forth by digital cinema technology. Digital cinema provides moviemakers with a unique opportunity to bring their theatrical releases to screens while eliminating the cost of film prints and effectively reaching the fan base through social media, grassroots efforts and highly targeted media campaigns without the cost of a traditional national advertising campaign.

The film, a recipient of global film festival awards, follows three skiers as they brave temperatures of 40 degrees below zero, dense fog and falling rocks in hopes of descending the longest continuous ski run in the world - a 21 mile descent from summit to sea level featuring a massive vertical relief up to 60 degrees steep. The previous attempt to ski this slope ended in tragedy when two of the most experienced skiers fell to their deaths in 2002. Director Gerald Salmina captures adventurer Axel Naglich, ski alpinist Peter Ressmann and free ski pro Jon Johnston as they risk everything to achieve what no man has ever done before.

Cameron Crowe's The Union, a new documentary about Elton John, will premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 20. John will be performing after the free screening at the North Cove of the World Financial Plaza.

"It's a special opportunity to open our 10th festival in this distinct and unique way," said festival co-founder Jane Rosenthal. "Not only are we inviting the community to join us for the world premiere of Cameron Crowe's film The Union, but to have Elton, whose music transcends generations, perform after is an extraordinary gift to our festival and more specifically the downtown community."

2011 is shaping up to be a great year for Crowe. In December he'll open We Bought a Zoo, which stars Matt Damon, Scarlett Johansson and Elle Fanning.

The voices of Toy Story's Woody and Buzz may soon be appearing together in front of the camera. Disney reportedly wants Tom Hanks and Tim Allen to star in Jungle Cruise, a new project inspired by the Magical Kingdom ride. No director has been named yet.

Toy Story raked in more than $1 billion worldwide, so it's no surprise that Disney would want to work with Hanks and Allen on a new project. Hanks is set to have a great year in 2011 with Larry Crowne, his new directorial effort, and Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close from director Stephen Daldry (The Hours). Allen is currently filming Geezers! alongside J.K. Simmons and Mike O'Malley.

Washington D.C. -- Julianne Hough will receive a "CinemaCon Rising Star of 2011 Award," it was announced today by Mitch Neuhauser, managing director of CinemaCon, which will be held March 28-31, 2011, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Hough will be presented with this special honor at the inaugural "CinemaCon Big Screen Achievement Award" ceremony to take place on Thursday evening, March 31st in The Colosseum of Caesars Palace. The Coca-Cola Company, Official Presenting Sponsor of CinemaCon, will host the final night gala awards program.

"Already a star in the world of music, television and dance, Julianne Hough is sure to thrill audiences with her portrayal of Ariel in Paramount Pictures fall release Footloose," noted Neuhauser. Hough will next be seen starring as Ariel in the Paramount Pictures release Footloose on October 14, 2011. Writer/Director Craig Brewer delivers a new take of the beloved 1984 classic film, when Ren MacCormack (played by newcomer Kenny Wormald) is transplanted from Boston to the small town of Bomont where he experiences a heavy dose of culture shock. A tragic accident led Bomont's local councilmen and the beloved Reverend Shaw Moore (Dennis Quaid) to implement ordinances prohibiting loud music and dancing. Ren challenges the ban, revitalizing the town and falling in love with the minister's troubled daughter, Ariel, in the process.

Actress/Singer/Dancer Julianne Hough is known to millions of fans as the two-time professional dance champion on ABC-TV's top-rated "Dancing With the Stars." In 2008, she released her self-titled debut album on Universal Music Group Nashville which hit the Billboard Country charts at #1 and entered the Billboard 200 at #3. New York, NY -- The Weinstein Company (TWC) announced today that it has acquired from Exclusive Media Group (Exclusive) the U.S. distribution rights to So Undercover, an action comedy starring Miley Cyrus (The Last Song, "Hannah Montana," LOL). The film, which was fully financed by Exclusive, is directed by Tom Vaughan (What Happens in Vegas), with a screenplay co-written by Allan Loeb (Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps, 21) and Steven Pearl. Along with Exclusive, the film is being produced by Loeb and Pearl through their company, Scarlet Fire Entertainment and by Tish Cyrus (The Last Song, LOL). Executive Producers are Jodi Zuckerman-Weiner (Hearts in Atlantis) for Cyrus' production company, Hope Town Entertainment, and Rob Cowan (The Crazies). So Undercover co-stars Jeremy Piven ("Entourage"), Mike O'Malley (Cedar Rapids, "Glee") and Kelly Osbourne ("The Osbournes"). The announcement was jointly made by TWC Co-Chairman Harvey Weinstein, TWC COO David Glasser and Exclusive Co-Chairmen Guy East and Nigel Sinclair.

"We're excited to be working with Miley Cyrus as she transitions from child phenomenon to grown-up star. She's got charisma and talent to burn, and So Undercover shows her to be a deft comedic actress," said Glasser. "This deal is a testament to the savvy instincts of Peter Lawson and his acquisitions team in scouting and securing those projects that will enhance TWC's release slate."

"We are thrilled to know that the film is now in great hands with Harvey Weinstein and his amazingly talented team at The Weinstein Company," said Sinclair and East. Exclusive Films International (EFI), the International sales and marketing arm of Exclusive, is handling worldwide sales of this title and has sold most major foreign territories prior to and while at the European Film Market in Berlin last week.

The deal was negotiated for TWC by Glasser, Peter Lawson, Executive Vice President, Acquisitions, and Laine Kline, Executive Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs; and for Exclusive Media Group by Andy Mayson, Managing Director and CFO, and CAA, which also arranged financing for the film.
