Gritty and powerful, Karim Dridi's second film (after "Pigalle") probes Arab-French culture in contemporary Marseille with uncompromising candor. The film follows two brothers, Ismael (Sami Bouajila) and the younger Mouloud (Ouassini Embarek), who've come to Marseille from Paris after a family crisis; they movie in with their uncle's large family. Ismael finds work in the port's naval yards, but temptation abounds. Ismael falls for an exotic companion of his closest friend, and Mouloud follows a no-good cousin into drug dealing. Their final confrontation with a trigger-happy druglord is harrowing and unforgettable. Starring Sami Bouajila, Ouassini Embarek and Nozha Khouadra. Directed and written by Karim Dridi. Produced by Alain Rozanes. No distributor set. Drama. Not yet rated. Running time: 105 min.
