Charlotte Alexandra plays a young girl who comes home from boarding school during summer break. While she hangs out at the family home, being quite bored, she goes through her sexual awakening into young womanhood.
Breillat brings a healthy fascination towards a woman's tumescent urges. She sees them as something much broader than simply a fetish, or a masochistic indulgence. In "Une Vraie Jeune Fille," Breillat never separates sex from character. Despite 25 years in limbo, the film still has the capacity to deliver a few jolts. Starring Charlotte Alexandra, Hiram Keller, Rita Meiden and Bruno Balp. Directed and written by Catherine Breillat. Produced by Andre Genoves. No distributor set. Drama. French language; subtitled. Not yet rated. Running time: 93 min.
