Home had a strong start in Russia following a #1 debut on the market. The film grossed $4.2 million from 2,157 screens -well ahead of comparable titles such as Rio (+100%), The Croods (+107%) and The LEGO Movie (+286%).
Cinderella dominated the weekend box office in Russia in its day-and-date debut. The live-action Disney film opened to $7.3 million (including paid previews), in line with the debut figures of Maleficent and Oz: The Great and Powerful in the market. Cinderella opened to a $132.4 million day-and-date global haul last weekend.
Local hit Dukhless 2 held on to another good result at the Russian box office. The comedy-drama posted a $1.5 million tally at 1,044 dates in its first hold-over in Russia, finishing the weekend as the #3 film in the market. Duhkless 2 has grossed a total of $6.75 million in its first 11 days in Russia.
