'Noah' Posts Record Breaking Debut in Russia on March 31, 2014

The biblical epic collected a $17.2 million haul from its Russian debut, making it the largest opening weekend ever for Paramount in Russia. Noah’s opening figures are 181% higher than Inception and 165% ahead of Gravity.

'Rio 2' Crosses $20M on March 31, 2014


Rio 2 enjoyed another strong weekend in Russia, adding $6.2 million from 2,478 screens in its first hold to cross the $20 million mark after only ten days in release. The animated sequel has now grossed a total of $21.1 million in Russia. Russia represents the bulk of the film’s early overseas gross, responsible for over two thirds of the film’s $30 million take from 3 markets.

'Noah' Storms Through Russia with $2.75M Opening Day on March 28, 2014

noahmovie.jpgNoah took a thundering lead at the Russian box office after enjoying a $2.75 million opening day, making it the #4 biggest non-holiday debut of all-time in the market.

Noah's opening day figures are already 250% above Gravity ($1.1M Opening Day) and 50% ahead of Inception ($1.8M Opening Day).

The Biblical epic has grossed $22 million ahead of its release in North America, including strong runs in South Korea ($10.2M) and Mexico ($8M).


'Rio 2' Takes $9.9M Debut on March 24, 2014


Rio 2 took a $9.9 million opening weekend from 2,478 screens in Russia. The strong debut is a positive sign for the animated sequel considering the start of school holidays in the country this week. The original Rio took a $9.3 million debut in the market and finished its theatrical run with a $24.8 million cume.

'300: Rise of an Empire' Reigns in Russia on March 24, 2014


300: Rise of an Empire grossed $1.2 million from 856 screens in Russia, bringing the film's running total in the market up to $16.8 million. Russia is currently the highest-grossing market for the 300 sequel.
