Russia Hangs on as the Top Overseas Market for 'Into the Storm' on August 31, 2014

South Korea is expected to overtake Russia as early as next weekend, however, as the natural disaster flick took a commanding $5.2 million debut in the new market. Into the Storm has grossed $47.7 million overseas and $89.6 million worldwide.

The Russian bow nearly matched the film's disappointing North American opening, finishing only $2 million below in nearly 1,000 less screens than its North American debut. 

'Expendables 3' Continues to Struggle in Russia, Drops to Second Half of the Table in Sophomore Frame on August 24, 2014

The weekend debut of The Expendables 3 was unable to unseat the reigning box office champion as the Turtles continued their successful run in Russia. The film has grossed a total of $20.9 million in Russia.
