The film maintained its global popularity in Russia, where Grand Budapest Hotel took a $1.2 million opening weekend from only 554 screens, resulting in a $2,178 per-screen average.
300: Rise of an Empire took second place over the weekend with a $3 million haul from 1,399 screens. The 300 sequel has grossed $14.6 million in Russia.
