Dracula Untold held on to the #1 spot in Russia, the second consecutive week it holds the box office crown in the country. The film took a $4.4 million haul from 1,032 dates, claiming over a third of the market share. Dracula Untold has grossed a total of $16.7 million from 11 days in Russia.
The Judge opened to $1.5 million from 795 screens in Russia over the weekend. The debut was enough for a second place finish, behind another strong hold from Dracula Untold and ahead of Gone Girl. The film performed according to expectations, grossing above comparable releases like Silver Linings Playbook and Up in the Air.
Gone Girl posted another weekend above $1 million in Russia, finishing in third place on the country's top ten chart. The thriller from director David Fincher earned $1.31 million from 481 screens over its third weekend in the market, a mere 39% drop from its sophomore frame. Gone Girl has grossed a total of $9 million in Russia.
Dracula Untold scored the biggest 2D opening of the year in Russia over the weekend. The film grossed $9.6 million at 1,065 dates, claiming 57% of the market share. The debut figures comfortably eclipsed the second weekend of Gone Girl, which fell 42% to take $1.94 million in its second frame. Dracula Untold has grossed a total of $62.6 million overseas and $86.1 million worldwide.
Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day had a soft debut in Russia. The Disney film took approximately $800k in its first weekend in the market, rankings second behind Mexico's $1.3 million bow among the film's top overseas territories. The film opened-day-and-date in North America and 14 overseas territories and will be in expanding in a staggered release with release dates running through January 2015.
