'Kung Fu Panda 3' Hangs Onto First Place Wednesday with $0.93 Million; 'Hail, Caesar!' Claims Second with $0.77 MillionFebruary 11, 2016 05:45 AM

Kung Fu Panda 3 held onto the top spot again Wednesday with another $0.93 million, off just 34 percent the same day last week. With $73.25 million earned domestically through 13 days of release, the animated sequel continues to play well thanks to healthy word of mouth and a lack of competing family titles.

Hail, Caesar! claimed second place yesterday with $0.77 million, bringing its six-day cume to $14.1 million. The latest film from the Coen brothers is performing somewhat below expectations, unfortunately, despite healthy reviews.

The Revenant took third place again on Wednesday with $0.633 million. That gives the 12-time Oscar nominee an excellent running tally of $151.7 million domestically thus far. Star Wars: The Force Awakens wasn't far behind in fourth place with another $0.628 million, bringing its all-time domestic record total up to $908.1 million.

Meanwhile, The Choice tacked on $0.42 million yesterday to give it a $7.6 million six-day total. Last week's remaining opener, Pride and Prejudice and Zombiesgrossed $0.35 million on Wednesday for a disappointing total of $6.6 million since opening last Friday.
