Lionsgate's The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 took in $11.36 million on Tuesday to lead the daily box office for a fifth straight day. The final chapter of the young adult blockbuster franchise starring Jennifer Lawrence was up 33 percent over Monday's performance. In comparison, last year's The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 increased 35 percent on its first Tuesday to gross $12.13 million. Mockingjay - Part 2 has grossed $122.56 million through five days of release. That is below pre-release expectations and is 14 percent below the $143.01 million five-day start of Mockingjay - Part 1.

The Peanuts Movie held steady in second place with $2.21 million. The 3D computer animated adaptation from Fox and Blue Sky was up 38 percent over Monday and up a strong 83 percent over last Tuesday, thanks in part to the approaching Thanksgiving holiday. The Peanuts Movie has grossed $103.16 million through 19 days. That places the film 18.5 percent behind the $126.50 million 19-day take of 2012's Wreck-It Ralph. The Peanuts Movie will now be facing new direct competition from Disney's The Good Dinosaur, which entered the marketplace on Tuesday evening.

Spectre once again followed closely behind in third with $2.19 million. That placed the film a slim $21,155 behind The Peanuts Movie for the day. Spectre was up a healthy 39 percent over Monday and down 33 percent from last Tuesday. The latest installment of Sony and MGM's James Bond franchise has grossed a solid $157.90 million in 19 days. The film is currently running 10 percent ahead of the $143.23 million 19-day take of 2008's Quantum of Solace and 30 percent behind the $225.34 million 19-day gross of 2012's Skyfall.

Fellow Sony release The Night Before took in $1.54 million to remain in fourth. The R-rated comedy starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Seth Rogen and Anthony Mackie increased 36 percent over Monday. The Night Before has grossed a softer than expected $12.56 million in five days, but is likely to hold up well throughout the holiday season. The film is running 18 percent behind the $15.28 million five-day take of 2011's A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas.

STX Entertainment's Secret in Their Eyes rounded out the day's unchanged top five with $0.803 million. The thriller starring Chiwetel Ejiofor, Nicole Kidman and Julia Roberts was up 34 percent from Monday. Secret in Their Eyes has grossed a lackluster $8.06 million in five days. That places the film 46 percent behind the $14.95 million five-day start of fellow STX Entertainment release The Gift earlier this year.
