LOS ANGELES - March 13, 2014 - According to Fandango, the nation's leading moviegoer destination, "300: Rise of an Empire" continues its reign at the top of Fandango's Fanticipation movie buzz indicator, scoring a heroic 77 out of 100 points and leading Fandango's weekend ticket sales, while "Need for Speed" is racing neck and neck with "300," ranking 76 out of 100 points.
"Fans of extreme action movies will be out in force at the theaters this weekend," says Fandango Chief Correspondent Dave Karger. "The visually stunning ‘300' sequel continues to hold its position at the top of the weekend's advance ticket sales, while ‘Need for Speed' is a non-stop racing movie that should satisfy fans of high-octane entertainment."
In limited release this weekend, the Kickstarter-funded big-screen adaptation of TV's "Veronica Mars" is also a solid performer on Fandango. On Fandango's movie recommendation show, "Weekend Ticket," Karger breaks down this weekend's new releases and interviews "Mars" star Kristen Bell.
