BRAZIL: '300' Continues to Impress, 'Need for Speed' Off to a Slow Start

300: Rise of an Empire kept the top spot in Brazil for a second consecutive weekend after adding $3.1 million from 460 screens. The 300 sequel has now grossed $11.1 million in the market. The film also led all other releases in the per-screen average category with a $6.8k average.
Domestic film Alemao enjoyed a #2 debut, overshadowing the premiere of Need for Speed. Alemao finished the weekend with a $1.4 million opening haul from 318 screens. Need for Speed settled for third place with a $1.2 million bow from 335 screens.
