Weekend Actuals: ‘Sully’ Doesn’t Crash-Land w/ $35.0M; ‘When the Bough Breaks’ Debuts w/ $14.2M; ‘The Wild Life’ Hardly Wild w/ $3.3M

Warner Bros.’ drama Sully, starring Tom Hanks and directed by Clint Eastwood, may never become an in-flight movie but still topped the box office this weekend with $35.02 million. Sony’s psychological thriller When the Bough Breaks took second place with a $14.20 million debut. Lionsgate’s animated film The Wild Life had among the lowest openings for a film playing around 2,500 theaters with $3.34 million.
