Weekend Actuals: ‘Angry Birds’ Flies High With $38.1M, ‘Captain America’ Adds $32.9M, ‘Neighbors 2’ and ‘Nice Guys’ Debut at $21.7M and $11.2M

Sony’s The Angry Birds Movie premiered atop the weekend box office with $38.15 million, down from its $39.00 million weekend estimate on Sunday. Disney’s Captain America: Civil War dropped from first place the past two weekends to second place with $32.93 million, down from its estimated $33.11 million Sunday estimate. Universal’s Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising debuted with an underwhelming $21.76 million and Warner’s The Nice Guys opened with $11.20 million, both almost exactly equal to their Sunday estimates.
