Torrance, CA – MediaMation, Inc. President/CEO Alison Jamele was among the featured panelists at a financial forum, “Investing in the Success of African-American Owned Small Businesses.” The event, staged at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles on Friday, March 4, was co-sponsored by Black Enterprise.com, J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. and VEDC. It was live streamed via FORA.tv.

The high-profile forum, which highlighted an in-person interview with pioneering African-American supermodel/author-turned-businesswoman Beverly Johnson, focused on addressing the unique community contributions and financial concerns of the nation’s African-American owned small businesses, which  according to Chase Business Banking Marketing Manager Deidra Porche, represents the fastest-growing segment of business owners in the nation.

Jamele, who launched her entertainment industry interactive technology house, MediaMation, Inc., with her spouse, Dan Jamele, 25 years ago, was acknowledged by moderator Daryl Shore, VP, J.P. Morgan Chase,  for her company’s perseverance and success in a business landscape that is often recognized as daunting, particularly for African-American entrepreneurs. MediaMation, which started out in the Jameles’ garage in 1991, has since outgrown numerous manufacturing, storage, and office facilities; directly employs nearly 50 people; engages numerous contractors; and provides world-class 4D motion EFX cinema, Virtual Reality, and amusement industry technologies to theatres, theme parks, museums, zoos, and other attractions around the globe.

Noted Jamele, discussing the importance of access to capital early in MediaMation’s history: “Eventually, it got to the point where we needed some cash flow in the form of a line of credit, and [Chase Bank] gave us a very nice line of credit so we can continue with the research and development in order to improve our products.”

Alison Jamele’s appearance on the panel further expands her public advocacy activities on behalf of Chase Bank, with whom MediaMation has enjoyed a long business relationship. Both Jamele partners were featured in Chase Bank radio and Internet commercials which debuted in May 2014.

Besides moderator Shore and Alison Jamele, other African-American entrepreneurs serving on the panel included OC Isaac, VP of Strategic Investments, VEDC; John Harrison, S & S Transportation; and Michael Elliot, Hammer & Nails Salon.
